Runners have paw-some time completing Canicross course with their dogs

Around 80 runners charged through hills and countryside while attached to their dogs to complete a Canicross course in aid of Canine Partners.

The Charity, which trains dogs to assist people with physical disabilities, is celebrating its 25th anniversary year and was chosen by Canicross Midlands to receive a donation of more than £1,000.

Holly Bryan, Events and Challenge Co-ordinator at Canine Partners, said: “This was a fantastic new event which seemed to go down a storm with the runners who took part.

“We are very grateful to Canicross Midlands for raising £1,028.79 for us and our Staffordshire Support Group who attended on our behalf on the day.

“All the money raised will enable Canine Partners to continue to train more assistance dogs which will be life-changing for the people with physical disabilities who will be partnered with them “.”

Canine Partners is dedicated to transforming the lives of people with physical disabilities by training amazing dogs to help with everyday tasks they would otherwise find difficult, painful or impossible including opening doors, undressing, pressing buttons, and emergency response. The dogs increase independence, confidence and provide loving companionship.
