Midlands-based charity Canine Partners announces the appointment of two new directors

Midlands-based charity Canine Partners, who provide specially trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, today announces the appointment of two new directors to its Senior Leadership Team. Faye Forde joins as Director of Finance and Daniel Larcey takes up the post of Director of Marketing and Income Generation.

With nearly two decades of experience in fundraising, marketing, and insights within the charity sector, Daniel Larcey brings a wealth of experience to the role. His most recent position as Director of Strategy, Insight, and Marketing at an agency allowed him to collaborate with some of the UK’s largest charities.

Speaking on his appointment, Daniel said:

I am both delighted and honoured to be joining Canine Partners at such an exciting time for the charity. The cause is close to my heart, as I grew up with a wonderful mother who has a physical disability. I am looking forward to getting started in the role and working alongside the brilliant staff and volunteers to raise awareness of Canine Partners’ life-changing work.

Faye, who is originally from Ireland, has lived in the UK for six years and has always been inclined towards working in the third sector. Prior to joining Canine Partners, Faye worked for a national cancer charity, culminating in her role as Finance and Operations Director.

Faye said:

This is a really exciting time to be joining Canine Partners. There is a sense of energy and renewed focus in the organisation following a restructuring earlier in the year. I will be leading a great team that is nicely balanced between team members who have been with the charity for a long time and newcomers like me. I am looking forward to working with them all.

Chief Executive Officer, Alex Lochrane, commented on the appointments:

2023 has been a period of dramatic change for the charity, marked principally by the relocation of our head office to our National Training Centre in the Midlands. As we embark on a new chapter, I am excited and humbled to welcome Faye and Daniel as our new directors. Both of them bring a wealth of experience and expertise to Canine Partners, along with passion, insight and sharply enquiring minds. It will be a real privilege to build a new Senior Leadership Team with them; a team which will, I hope, become a powerhouse of leadership, focus and energy for the charity. This is, and will be, essential as we grow and continue to transform the lives of people with physical disabilities. – Alex Lochrane,  CEO

Canine Partners trains amazing assistance dogs to transform the lives of people living with disability, boosting their confidence and independence as well as providing unique companionship.

The dogs are taught a range of tasks that will give essential support to their partner, including picking up and fetching items, opening doors and helping with dressing and undressing. They can even help to load and unload a washing machine and they can fetch help in an emergency.
