Meet Ruth and Warwick

Hello folks, I’m Warwick a Flat-coated Retriever. Small but perfectly formed! I worked as a canine partner for two years, I made such an impact on my partner’s life and health that they selflessly decided to return me to the charity to see if I could make a difference to someone else’s life. I went back to my Fosterer volunteer, which was great because I LOVED her. After assessment by the very skilled Advanced Trainers, it was decided that a career change to join the Dog Ambassador Team was the best thing for me. Here is the best bit… my Fosterer volunteer, Ruth, also joined the team and I got to live with her 😊

Ruth, started at Canine Partners back in 2011 as a Puppy Parent volunteer, she then loved us all so much she joined the charity in the Aftercare Team as an Administrator whilst fostering advanced training dogs (that’s how she first met me). And now she part of the Dog Ambassador Team with me. Ruth told me this:

“I enjoy working on tasks with him as he is always so enthusiastic and keen to learn. I enjoy meeting partners, hearing their stories and seeing how the dogs have added to their lives. Being part of the Canine Partners family brings me a lot of pleasure – plus I have a fantastic dog by my side.”

My favourite task is the washing machine, but it is closing the door with gusto that I enjoy the most. When I am having downtime, I do love a muddy field to roll in and I am partial to some playtime in the water.

I hope to see you soon at one of our amazing events!
