Meet Bonnie and Arthur
Hey! I’d like to introduce myself – I am Arthur. I am told my name means “brave and honourable” and I rather like that as I think it sums up some of my qualities!
I started at Canine Partners as a puppy with the most wonderful Puppy Parent volunteer – Bonnie. We were working very well together. Sadly my hips needed management and support, so for my well-being, I was withdrawn from the main training programme. Bonnie continued to work hard in supporting my health and I joined the Dog Ambassador Team with her as my handler. The rest they say is history, we went from strength to strength and Bonnie has worked incredibly hard at upskilling me. You can now see us at all types of events from saying hello to showing off the cupboard routine. I think this is my favourite task. I do love a clapping audience.
I love doing things with Bonnie, I like going to lots of places with her but I think watching Bonnie play tennis is the best.
Bonnie has been with the Charity since 2015, from Puppy Parenting, fundraising and delivering talks, to helping with office administration and attending events with me – she has done it all. I and Canine Partners are so lucky to have her as such an avid, keen and loyal supporter.
Here’s a little bit Bonnie has to say about her multiple roles within Canine Partners:
“I love supporting our wonderful staff, engaging with the public and spreading the word through talks and opportunistically with Arthur showing the skills of our dogs whenever possible.”
I look forward to seeing many of you soon
Arthur
