The Moira Canal Festival is a family event held every year on the restored section of the Ashby Canal, at the historic Moira Furnace Museum. It aims to raise awareness of, and money for, the restoration, extension and maintenance of the Ashby Canal.
- When: 17 and 18 May 2025, 10am to 5pm
- Where: Furnace Lane, Moira, Swadlincote DE12 6AT
- Play our Tombola to win prizes for your four-legged friend
- See our Dog Ambassador Team showcasing the skills our amazing assistance dogs can do in the Main Ring

Our BBC Lifeline Appeal will be shown again on Friday 4 April at 12:50pm on BBC Two.
This special appeal will highlight some of the incredible individuals at our charity, including our partners with their assistance dogs. Get ready for plenty of adorable puppies and dogs in training – it’s a TV show you won’t want to miss!

Known for her iconic roles in the Harry Potter films and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Helena Bonham Carter has numerous accolades to her name.
Helena’s family has been involved with the charity from the very beginning, making this partnership extra special. We’re excited to have Helena help us fly the purple Canine Partners flag!
