The Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal raised a phenomenal amount to help transform lives.

At the end of last year it was announced that Canine Partners would be one of the three beneficiaries of The Telegraph’s Christmas Charity Appeal which took place over the Christmas period.

On Thursday 8 March, we were delighted to be invited to the Telegraph offices in London to find out the total raised and to pick up the cheque.

We were astonished to find out that Canine Partners received an incredible £214,126.64 as a result of the appeal.

The overall total raised for the appeal was £542,250.98, the other beneficiaries were Missing People and Fareshare – two worthy causes we were delighted to be up there in lights with.

The funds raised were made by donations to the Christmas Appeal by readers of the Telegraph. The appeal was promoted both in the printed paper and online, as well as articles and features in the various Telegraph magazines.

We were honoured to have been chosen as one of the three charities and would like to thank all of the staff at The Telegraph who wrote such amazing and inspiring articles about our work and took the thousands of calls that came in during the phone-in day in December!

We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the celebrations and being invited along to their annual carol service at St Bride’s Church too.

We would also like to thank the partners who shared their amazing stories as part of the appeal, the partnerships who came along to the various meetings and opportunities in London, our fabulous demo team and their amazing demo dogs and to all of the supporters who donated and spread the word far and wide. The exposure the charity has received from this appeal has been truly fantastic.

We will soon have a video to share from The Telegraph – so stay tuned!
