Recently, demo dog Blythe and her handler Pauline went to visit the 1st Desford Brownies to show the young girls how our amazing dogs are trained to assist a person with a physical disability.

Blythe strut her stuff and demonstrated how a canine partner can open doors, turn on light switches and do many other tasks to support their human partner. The group listened very well and asked some great thought provoking questions – but that’s not all!

The girls were so impressed with Blythe and the work that we do as a charity, they wanted to try their hand at some fundraising as well.

Over a few weeks, the girls carried out lots of good deeds at home, which their parents paid for with coins attached to a special dog bone!

A big thank you to all of 1st Desford Brownies for working so hard helping their Mums and Dads, doing their homework, cleaning their rooms and tidying up. All of their work will go towards training even more amazing assistance dogs that go on to transform lives.

Thank you also to Dawn and the group leaders who invited Pauline and Blythe along and introducing them to such a fantastic group of girls.
