Members of Oakham Veterinary Hospital’s small animal department ran the Melton Mowbray Santa Fun Run on Sunday 13th December in aid of Canine Partners.

Thank you to this fab team that ran, walked and limped the 5km course wearing the compulsory Father Christmas costumes provided. Their efforts and discomfort weren’t to no avail though as the inspirational team raised over £500 for our charity.

Although the team were glad to finish, they have said it was well worth it to raise much-needed funds for us and they’re certain they’ll do it again next year.

One of the members of the team, Chris Booth, said: “Canine Partners is a fantastic charity which trains assistance dogs to help people with a range of physical disabilities, but that obviously comes with a significant price-tag.

“Each puppy costs on average £20,000 which is why we felt this was a very worthy charity to help from the fun run but also throughout the year.”

Oakham Veterinary Hospital chose Canine Partners as their charity of the year from 2015-2016. Thank you to all the team who have made the amazing fundraising possible so far.
