Meet Ann and Libby
Hi, I’m Libby! I’m a Labrador crossed with a Golden Retriever, and I’ve been part of the Dog Ambassador team since July 2025. I live in Leicestershire with my lovely family, just 10 minutes from the National Training Centre. Some days I get to go to work with my human, and other days I stay home with her and our little girl—which means double the cuddles!
Before I joined my forever family, I lived with a wonderful Puppy Training Volunteer until I was one year old. That’s when everyone noticed something wasn’t quite right. After a few vet visits, they found out I had bilateral hip dysplasia. It meant I couldn’t become a jacketed Canine Partner, but I was so happy when they decided I’d make a perfect Dog Ambassador instead. This way, I get to meet lots of new people (my favourite thing!), keep learning fun tasks, and my family can make sure I stay happy and healthy.
I’m still new to Ambassador work, but I love learning, especially when treats are involved—seriously, I’ll do anything for a biscuit! So keep an eye out, because I’ll soon have some favourite tasks to show off.
When I’m not “working,” I’m always with my family. I love joining in with everything they do, even if I sometimes forget I’m a bit too big to be a lapdog (but don’t tell me that).
My human has been with Canine Partners since 2007 in different roles, she now helps train and support Partnerships in the East Midlands. She had another demo dog called Erin from 2008 to 2016, and now it’s my turn to shine! We can’t wait to go to more events together, meet lots of people, and spread joy wherever we go.
Love,
Libby
