Energetic Jan, 69, from Chichester, completed the 26.2 mile route in five hours and 21 minutes on Sunday 27 September.
Jan chose to run for us after the family dog Misty died.
Jan, who has raised more than £15,000 by completing marathons for charity, said: “Canine Partners create happy lives for owners with amazingly talented dogs. I am in awe of their achievements.
“It provided me with that extra incentive to complete the distance. The marathon organisers were brilliant with ample supplies of refreshments, 10,000 runners all catered for during the event. An abundance of masseurs available to ease aching muscles after finishing.
“I thought I was going to melt at times but arriving in the National Stadium gave me energy to run the final stretch! Donations I hope will exceed the target. ”

Entrants in the 5k walk or 10k run were easily spotted in the beautiful grounds of Petworth Park as many wrote their purple Canine Partners hairy headbands and medals.
Holly Bryan, Events and Challenges Co-ordinator for Canine Partners, said: “We are thrilled with the number of people and dogs who supported Canine Partners by joining in our walk and run events. The money will make a difference and enable Canine Partners to train more assistance dogs in their 25th anniversary year, transforming the lives of people with disabilities.”
Meanwhile, around the main arena at the Bark! in the Park event, there was plenty to see and do with have-a-go areas, including a doggy challenge run with Fun with Dogs, search and rescue with the ALSAR
Search Dogs Sussex and a scurry provided by English Springer Spaniel Welfare. Visitors also enjoyed trialling the latest photographic technology at the Panasonic’s Roadshow tent where hundreds enjoyed an instant free portrait with their four legged friend.
