Meet Lesley and Wallis
Hi Everyone!! I am Wallis, your friendly, loveable black Labrador. I was my late partners 2nd Canine Partner and we loved going to events spreading awareness of the Charity and helping to raise vital funds to create more life changing dogs like me. Following the death of my partner I stayed in the family home where Lesley applied for us to join the Dog Ambassador Team. This was perfect timing as the team were looking for another dog to join the team to help with meet and greets and showing our 3 core skills – touch, tug and retrieve. I love that together, with Lesley we still get to support the Charity and be apart of this wonderful ‘purple family’.
My favourite thing about events is all the tummy tickles I get – So many people to greet and to get love and adoration! It’s all in the perks of the job. When I am not flying the flag for Canine Partners, I love nothing better than switching off by playing tug or getting a toy which holds treats in. I love emptying the washing machine and retrieving the post from the letter box – I mean its not work if you love what you do is it?!
As well as being part of the Dog Ambassador Lesley often volunteers at the National Training centre helping with reception to prepping tombola’s for fundraising events.
