Star
Meet our newest little life-changer, Star. She’s just starting training to become a life-changing assistance dog.
Could you sponsor her journey to become a Canine Partner?
Future life-changer Star lives on the South coast with her Puppy Training Volunteer and her four-legged sister, Cherry.
Star is at the start of her two-year training journey. First she’ll go through puppy training, learning basic skills and commands, before moving onto assistance dog training at ‘Big School’, where she will turn that early training into life-changing taskwork.
When she graduates, she’ll receive her purple Canine Partners assistance dog jacket and be partnered with a disabled person.
You can follow every step of her journey by sponsoring her today.
Why Star needs sponsoring
Every one of our life-changing partnerships costs £50,000 – that’s £11.26 a day.
More than half of that is spent during the first two years while training to become assistance dogs. It funds:
- Training equipment and weekly puppy classes.
- Toys and food.
- Vet bills, preventative care, physiotherapy and pet insurance to keep them fit and healthy.
- Support for their Puppy Training and Assistance Dog Training Volunteers as theyir raise and train them.
- Kennel care at our National Training Centre.
- Specialist training with our Assistance Dog Trainers and Canine Care team.
