Growing a greener future for our charity
Our National Training Centre is becoming a little greener. Thanks to the Woodland Trust’s free tree pack scheme, we have planted 100 native British saplings across our site.
These UK-grown trees are already beginning to settle into their new home. As they mature, they will create valuable habitats for wildlife and help make the surroundings even more welcoming for everyone who visits.
Located in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, our National Training Centre plays a vital role in the work of Canine Partners. It’s where many of our incredible assistance dogs complete their specialist training before beginning their life-changing partnerships.
The site is also a base for our dedicated staff and volunteers, while providing a homely and supportive setting for partners throughout their journey with us.
Since transforming the former derelict farm into a purpose-built training facility in 2012, we have continued to develop the site responsibly – creating a space that supports our community while respecting the natural environment around it.
Planting these trees marks another important step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental care. Our maintenance team carefully prepared the ground and planted each sapling following expert guidance from the Woodland Trust, giving them the best possible start.
Our National Training Centre is a special place for so many people, and we’re committed to looking after it. These new trees are a great addition to the site that both people and wildlife can enjoy for many years to come.
“It’s lovely to think that what we plant today will grow alongside the partnerships created here for years to come. We are incredibly grateful to the Woodland Trust for their support.
By continuing to invest in our National Training Centre, we are helping to protect and nurture this important place for everyone who depends on it – now and in the future.
