How you'll help

Speaker Volunteers give talks to local groups, schools, and organisations that invite us to showcase our work.

You’ll explain how our assistance dogs are trained and how our partnerships support people with physical disabilities.

You should also encourage your audience to get involved with the charity, whether through fundraising or by becoming a volunteer.

You may also attend local events or cheque presentations on behalf of Canine Partners.

Time and commitment

This role is flexible and usually arranged as opportunities arise.

Talks are organised in advance, and you can choose which invitations to accept depending on your availability and location. You’ll need to be 18 or over, able to travel independently, and available during the day and occasionally in the evenings.

Training and support

You’ll attend an initial training day and ongoing sessions as required.

We provide key messages and presentation materials to help you feel confident speaking on our behalf. You’ll liaise with our team to organise visits and prepare for each talk.

Is this right for you?

It’s ideal if you feel comfortable speaking to groups, can travel locally, and are confident using email and basic computer systems to organise your talks. You can also explore other volunteer roles to discover other ways to get involved.
