How to Name a Puppy

You could name a puppy by yourself, with a group of friends, or in memory of a loved one. You may also want to name a puppy as part of your workplace or school Charity of the Year.

Naming levels

We have four different Name a Puppy levels for you to choose from. Whichever level you choose, you’ll get exclusive insights into the world of Canine Partners and see how our young pups progress through their training.

Name – Help start a puppy on their incredible journey!

For donations of £5,000 or more, you’ll get the chance to gift a canine partner pup it’s name and be at the heart of it’s life-changing journey. You will receive:

A birth certificate
A ‘pupdate’ with photos during puppy training
An update on when your pup has moved to advanced training
A final placement update when your pup has it’s chosen career

Train – Support a puppy through puppy training!

For donations of £10,000 or more, you’ll get an up close and personal experience throughout the pup’s very first year. As well as gifting a name, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the puppy in person too. You will receive:

A birth certificate
Two ‘pupdates’ with photos during puppy training
A puppy meeting (in person or digitally) with the puppy you’ve named
An update on when your pup has moved to advanced training
A final placement update when your pup has it’s chosen career

Match – Support a pup right through puppy and advanced training!

For donations of £20,000 or more, you’ll get a more up close and personal experience throughout the pup’s entire training journey. As well as gifting a name, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the puppy in person twice in training. You will receive:

A birth certificate
Four ‘pupdates’ with photos during puppy training
A puppy meeting (in person or digitally) with the puppy you’ve named
An update on when your pup has moved to advanced training
A private tour of our National Training Centre in Leicestershire and an opportunity to see your pup when it is in advanced training.
A final placement update when your pup has it’s chosen career

Partner – Support the lifetime cost of one of our working dogs!

For donations of £50,000 or more, you’ll receive the ultimate Name a Puppy experience. With every update personal to the pup you have named, you’ll not only find out about how they progress through training, but also the life-changing impact they’ll make. As well as gifting a canine partner pup its name, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the puppy in person many times too. This level will transform the life of someone with a physical disability. You will receive:

A birth certificate
Four ‘pupdates’ with photos during puppy training
An opportunity to meet the individual who has had their life changed by your named dog (in person or digitally)
Two ‘pupdates’ when your pup has moved to advanced training
A private tour of our National Training Centre in Leicestershire and an opportunity to see your pup when it is in advanced training.
A final placement update when your pup has it’s chosen career
An opportunity to meet the individual who has had their life changed by your named dog.
