Canine Partners’ Southern Training Centre held a Fun Dog Show and BBQ on Saturday 15 September, which raised an incredible £1,950 to help train more assistance dogs for people living with disabilities across the UK.

The sun shone on the warm September day, bringing over 250 people to the event. The day included demonstrations from the Canine Partners Demo Team, a tombola, merchandise stalls and a ‘find the puppy’ game. Dogs could also join in the fun with a canine version of ‘Hook a Duck’, which left a lot of dogs very wet and happy!

The Fun Pet Dog Show went down a storm, with the following winning a bundle of treats as a prize:

Handsomest Chap – Mango, Flat coated retriever
Loveliest Lady – Amber, Cocker spaniel
Golden Oldie – Tess, Lurcher
Puppy Class – Fleur, Pointer
Happiest Dog – Canine partner Higgins, Labrador
Best Rescue – Bear, Labrador x Staffordshire bull terrier
Best Ears – Douglas, Cavapoochon
Childs Best Friend – Pickles, Labrador x golden retriever
Waggiest Tail – Canine partner Maddie, Labrador x golden retriever

Winning Best in Show was canine partner Maddie, who we think looks very happy with her big rosette!

Community Fundraiser for the South, Gemma Tupper, said:
“We are so pleased with how many people attended the event and are lucky to have had BBQ weather with the sun shining all day. Events like this are vital to us as they not only raise funds to help us train more assistance dogs but they also raise awareness of the charity in our local community.”

Thank you to everyone who came along, we hope you and your four-legged friends had a ball!
