Julia and Hans Rausing Trust donates £150,000 to Canine Partners

We are extremely pleased to announce that Canine Partners has been chosen to receive a grant from the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust’s Charity Survival Fund, which was launched to provide emergency funding in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A grant of £150,000 from the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust will enable our charity to fund its core activities in the coming months at a critical time for our clients and their dogs. As we all adjust to the new ways of living and working, Canine Partners has implemented sweeping changes to its operations so it can work safely and continue to transform lives. Without this funding there was a very real risk to our ability to continue, so we are immensely grateful to the Trust for this generous grant.

The Charity Survival Fund received over 2,600 applications since it opened in July 2020 and in view of the clear need they were seeing, the initial £10 million committed to the Fund was increased to £18 million. Whilst they were unable to give grants to all the applicants, the family Trust was able to help over 300 charities to keep going at a time when they recognised that many in this sector have been struggling to survive.

So as Canine Partners enters the fourth quarter of this extraordinary year, we are remaining positive and working tirelessly to keep our special charity going. We are now starting to create new partnerships once again, training our dogs at our two Training Centres, and finding ways to use technology to communicate effectively with over 445 clients around the UK. We are looking forward to 2021, and our amazing dogs continue to remind us how important it is to find enjoyment in each day even in very challenging circumstances.

Thanks to the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, this life-transforming work will continue.
