Cyclists put on their helmets and jumped on their bikes to cycle up to 52 miles for this year’s Pedal for Paws South event.

The cycling event took place across the stunning South Downs on Sunday 30 September, with 58 cyclists taking part.

The sun shone and excitement bubbled amongst the participants as they set off on one of two scenic routes.

The vital funds raised are still being counted, but Helen Watkinson, Head of Community and National Fundraising, hopes the challenge will have raised enough to purchase and train a puppy, which is worth £5,000.

“Events like Pedal for Paws are so important for us to raise funds and awareness of Canine Partners in the area surrounding our Southern Training Centre,” says Helen.

“Existing and new supporters are able to take part in the exciting challenge and experience the incredible views of the South Downs while raising vital funds for the charity.”

SAP UK Ltd took the great opportunity to put together their own team of 18 people for this year’s event. Here’s a quote from SAP on why they chose to get involved:

“After running a half marathon earlier this year and personally raising an amazing £890, Amanda Gardiner from SAP decided her next challenge would be to get some of her fellow SAP UK Ltd colleagues to join a team to raise more awareness and money for Canine Partners and help them to raise more awareness and money for Canine Partners and help them transform more lives for physically disabled people with their amazing dogs. It’s a great chance to build team relationships.”

SAP’s team was made up of various ages and capabilities with an aim to have a fun day out with just a hint of competitiveness.

A huge thank you to everyone who took on the challenge and helped to raise vital funds for Canine Partners!
